Lateif, I had a chance to utilize your advice about vocalizing as a preemptive tactic 26 Jan. 2007, (2247?) hrs. on 188 ST. W Washington Hts. Section of Manhattan.
I was helping my daughter's room mate (Jxxxxxx) move into her new apartment at said location. I let the girls off with Jen's stuff and found a parking spot...walking back towards the apartment out of the corner of my eye I saw a Hispanic youth move quickly out of a doorway and start to close on my left side. At this point I started to pull out my Benchmade folder and turn towards him. As I was turning towards the youth I remembered the lateral movement and verbalization you demonstrated at the class... which I started to do. The youth paused for a moment and then turned and ran. If I had not attended your class last Tuesday who knows how it might of turned out????? Thanks. - Pete
